FREED (UK) - Welcome to our Website
Freed UK is a charity based in Northampton, England that supports the
deprived community of Nandom in the
Upper West region of Ghana. Our
group strives to support the provision of healthcare and education, in
partnership with FREED in Ghana.
We believe that healthcare and education should be accessible to everyone including the very poor and disadvantaged.
FREED (UK) has volunteers that include doctors, dentists, teachers, nurses and others from Northampton and further afield. We have been involved in raising funds and giving support in various ways, including travelling to Nandom to work for the charity in 2007.
Many of the medical team consist of Doctors and Nurses from Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust (NGHT) and we have established a Health link between NGHT and Nandom Hospital.Our activities in the Nandom area include supporting a primary school and orphanage. The orphanage is located 18 miles from Nandom in the district capital Jirapa.
