Picturedrome Northampton Fundraiser
A BIG thanks to all who attended and participated in our fundraising event at the Picturedrome on March 6th, it was a great success!
We raised over £2,628.00 from the sale of tickets, the raffle and the auction.
Along with £2,678.00 from Clare and Phil who made a request for donations instead of wedding presents, our total funds available for the bore hole at Ko Farm project now stands at:-
£5,306.00!
Our special thanks must go to the Picturedrome for giving us
the venue, the sponsors of our event and especially the artists who gave
up their time and talents for free. Sarah and Peter Hepworth, Adam
Loake, the 'Skatoons' band and Kyreme Arts.
The evening started with Sarah providing us with some great
songs (picture right). With support from Adam on guitar and Peter on his drums they set
a lively entertaining start to events.
The true Ghanaian flavour came next from 'Kyreme Arts' with
some energetic, rhythmic drumming, chant and dancing (see picture left). This involved some
great audience participation which was enjoyed by all!
'Skatoons' pictured below, followed with their blend of musical elements which
continued to encourage the audience participation in dance as well as
the Ghanaian drummers enjoying joining in the rhythm!
After raising some funds through the auction and announcing
raffle winners the night ended (too soon for some!) with further energy
from Skatoons and the drummers, not to mention those of us dancing!
A very big thanks to all those generous groups, companies and
people who provided raffle and auction prizes. These included
- Northampton's Rugby team - The Saints
- Northampton's Football team - The Cobblers
- Northampton Cricket Club
- The Church Restaurant
- The Royal Theatre
- The Art of Wood
- Silverstone Circuit
- Wooton Fields Therapy Centre
- Townshend Skin Clinic
